DO YOU NEED TO DESCALE IF YOU DONT LIVE IN A HARD WATER AREA?

Most people are aware of how hard the water supply is to their home. Build-up of limescale in kettles, around taps, and in the bathroom gives a good indication you live in a hard water area and should be descaling your appliances.
If you are still not sure you can check on your water suppliers website
If you are in a hard water area, but your coffee machine has an integrated filter, or you use filtered water, this can help reduce the frequency you need to descale but it would still be recommended.
It’s important to adjust the settings of your coffee machine based on the water hardness of your area. Your instruction manual will explain how to do this if you have this functionality. This will determine how frequently the appliance prompts you to descale.
For hard areas, it’s recommended to descale every month. If you live in a soft water area, it’s still advisable to run a descaler through your machine every two to three months.
